Friends,
I always cherish the age old verses from Sanskrit -The language of Lords, they say!
A great thoughts put in simple words- but have some eternal truths associated with them.
The following one is very much near to my heart and I always keep mentioning this to my Son- Samahit!
"Humility graces the Knowledge!"
There goes a saying in Sanskrit : Vidya (Wisdom/knowldge) Vinayen (with humility) Shobhate (looks graceful)
It means, whatever clever we are, whatever education, art, skills, knowledge or any specialization we have attained, people will respect us only if we are humble. Any of these qualities, if associated with Ego or Bragging, we will not be respected by the masses.
The world is big and there is every possibility of there being a better being than us, some where, some time.
So be humble! In the mighty storm, giant, strong tress fall and are carried away like weightless things by mighty streams of overflowing rivers ; however tiny, delicate Moss stays on clinging to River banks.
For the people whom we love the most, keeping quiet and agreeing to them- even when we are not in agreement- back of our mind, is a great satisfaction to our soul and a soothing action for our mind!
So, whenever your parents, teachers, friends or whoever you respect a lot, puts forth a point you are not comfortable with, and if debate breaks out, don't argue but listen, be calm and just say to him, " I may not agree with you dear but I respect a lot what you say!"
Be sure, you will cherish this moment for life time!
